I am currently 3 weeks out and I am down 43 lbs.  I feel so much better about myself.  I have been trying purees and I can admit that this is not my favorite stage.  I have found that I love tuna.  I am embarrassed to admit it, but I even pureed it and I loved it.  I have already experienced dumping syndrome and have learned the importance of not overeating.  So far so good.  I loving it and I am working it.

Today was my pre-op and I am still as nervous as when I got the call saying I was approved for the surgery.  Dr. Wilson wanted me to loose 10 lbs before surgery and I am down 8.5.  So now everything is in order.  I almost danced a jig to know that my surgery is next week.  I go on liquids tomorrow so now we shall see what becomes of the NEW ME. Heeeeeeeeeeeey!!!!
I am too excited. I don't think I can stress that enough.  Whoopee!!!

Today I received the "phone call".  Connie, the nurse from my Dr's office called and told me that I was approved for my surgery and my date was set.  My surgery date is scheduled for 09-08-08.  The only thing that I can do is cry.  I was so excited and so many different emotions came over me.  The first thing I did was call my mother, she was so excited.  We were both so happy.  I have been waiting for this for 5 yrs and now my prayers have been answered.  Thank God!  It is always said that He may not be there when you call him, but he's always on time.

I had my consultation with Dr. Wilson on 07.02.08.  Being that I have been trying to have WLS for the past 3 yrs, looks like my dream is finally coming true.  I decided to proceed with having the VSG surgery and my surgeon backed me whole heartedly.  We both agreed that this would be the best method for me due to some anemia problems that I have been fighting.  I felt so comfortable with him and I feel he is one of the best things that has happened to me.  I have been to surgeon after surgeon and never felt comfortable, but when I met with him, I knew he was the one for me.  The right surgeon that is.  So I am getting all of the tests that my insurance is requiring, then it could be as early as 6 wks that I can undergo my surgery.  I am almost jumping out of my skin.  I am toooooooooo excited. I will keep the posts coming as things progress.
