So here I go..... I was planning on having gastric bypass because shocked everything i tried didn't work for me. The only thing that had ever really worked for me was the LAP BAND back in 06. I had it in for a lil less then a year and had a very bad car accident. I also had a very bad fall less then 24 hrs after accident and crushed my large body in a very tight space and also putting massive pressure on my poor band that had been a good friend until that nite. My band my friend had given me such joy and I had lost 90 lbs. WOO HOO! I was so excited my soon to be hubby was just amazed how i was changing in all ways. The band truly helped me how to eat and how to live. So then comes December of 07 and the end of my friendship with my band, Almost from the minute of in pact i was nauseous and was wanting to vomit badly. The tests showed swelling but noting more so the band docs said it was all me and did nothing. Was told it was just me wanting to eat again.... i could not believe what i was hearing. i am not vomiting several times a day no matter what was going in from fluid t tuna fish. I am now 2 1/2 mo past accident and i am told by my internist i am showing signs of malnutrition. I had lost alot of my hair and nails were peeling badly and my teeth were falling out from all of the vomiting. I had had enough and was so done with my band docs. I demanded they remove the band and I wanted a full report.... gee guess what band had eroded in to my tummy.... so long story kinda short got the hell away from those docs and had to heal mentally and physically. I waited and research and went to every seminar this city had to offer me and i really fell for the BMI Docs in Joliet IL. They were going to to a gastric bypass but after Dr got in there he said no way could anything be done when it cam to any kind of bypass so it was the band again. It took me a few days but I have come to be friends with my band yet again I just need to stay away from car accidents...lol so that is a lil about my history with WLS... hugs to u all
