St. Mary Medical Center Double DUP

"The admissions department is FAR FAR away in the back of the hospital, the instructions for getting around on the admissions floor were a little difficult. This is a teaching hospital, therefore a student nurse was usually the one performing primary care. The problem with this was that these students were not familiar with bariatric patient's needs. The really good thing is that my surgeon has a dedicated bariatric nurse (Kay) who is wonderful, supportive, and informative. She does not hesitate to perform whatever nursing care is necessary, often more efficiently than the nursing staff. Because of her, I would rate this hospital in a higher category for bariatric surgery."

Shyam L. Dahiya

"My surgeon is with LBS, inc in Bellflower CA. There are two surgeons, Dahiya and McColgan. Both are certified with ABSA and have done over 50 of these Laparoscopically. Their office has been very good in meeting my scheduling needs, but have not been especially informative to date. I am hoping that when I meet with them in two weeks or the presurg evaluation, they will be more forthcoming. The support group is headed by a nurse who had GBS 3 years ago."
