I'm 25 lbs under my target weight!!!!

Jan 15, 2009

Well, I did it! I am 25 lbs below my target weight of 150lbs! Wooohoooo! It has been quite an accomplished feeling! I did have a scare within the past several days however. I have had a lot of sinus drainage and unable to hold any food or liquids down for about 18 days. I guess I threw up so much that I irritated the heck out of my tummy! I began vomiting coffee ground emesis two days ago. Being an ER nurse, that scared me cuz I knew it was digested blood. That wasn't what concerned me...the question of where the blood was coming from was what I freaked out on!  Everything has turned for the better. Dr. French completely emptied my fluid from my band and I'm 100% better!!!  Thank goodness. I did turn down to be admitted though. Didn't see a need to do such for only IV fluids.  But I am happier than ever! I am in a juniors size 7 and some 5s! Wow! I am way smaller than even in high school! Size 20 womens to juniors 7! What a great feeling!!!!  Hope everyone is having such success as I am! New pics are posted of me!

Slowly but surely...

May 02, 2008

Quite honestly, I have been steady losing weight.  I am announcing that I am giving away my size 16 and size 18 pants away to a coworker.  Plus, giving my 1x and 2x shirts away to her as well.  But, what I wouldn't give for a subway turkey with bacon on white bread!  I recently had an adjustment...but it wasn't much b/c I was told that I lost a little too much this past go round.  That is good, right????  On a different note, John Thomas will be one year old on May 11 (Mother's Day--the irony).  Wow!  So, I am having to plan a BBQ for the family.  But, I am trying to come up with something that my sis in law and I can eat.  Got any suggestions????

Doing a lot better..

Now my morale is so much better. I apologize for the negative blogs.  I was just beginning to think that this LapBand just wasn't for me.  But now, I am on a roll!  Hot dang!  I am currently looking for a gym here in Magee that will watch John Thomas while I work out.  6 more lbs til I am at my short term goal!!!!! TTYL!

I don't understand...

Mar 06, 2008

I don't understand.  Tell me why that I cannot eat hardly anything...yet, my weight keeps going up and down.  I am trying to drink...but I am showing some signs of dehydration.  I have already had an IV NS fluid bag.  Why is it that the weight is not "falling off of me" like it has everyone around me.

6 months post op...

Mar 03, 2008

Six months post op!  I guess I thought it was suppose to be a bigger loss than this.  I have lost from 240 lbs to 209 lbs.  I just am disappointed because I wanted to be below 200 lbs by my six months anniversary.  Well, ups and downs...
Now, I am hungry!  I just don't know what to eat.  Pudding, soups, potatoes...these don't last.  But meats, chicken and seafood--rarely go down without getting stuck!  I don't understand this.  I chew, chew, chew, chew, chew, etc and small bites.  Slow eating.  Hell, what else am I suppose to do???

More than a week has past since surgery...

Aug 31, 2007

I find myself HUNGRY.  It is so hard to just eat pudding, yogurt, jello, and soup.  I have never really eaten soup before.  I mean, yah, occasionally.  I have eaten some baby food bananas and applesauce.  AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO IS HUNGRY one week post op??  And the vitamins...why do they make me so hungry?  They always have...that is one of the reasons (but not the only of course) that I gained so much weight in pregnancy.  Nothing satisfies my hunger when I take them.
I love milk!!!!  And they told me only one cup a day.  WHY??  Isn't milk one of the backbones to a healthy and successful weight loss plan?
I am trying to stay positive...but it is so hard.  When can I get back into an excercise routine???

3 Days Post Op from Lap Band

Aug 26, 2007

Well, I am three (3) days post op from the Lap Band surgery.  Honestly, my weight on the day before my surgery was 240 lbs.  This a.m. it was 228.1 lbs.  I know that you can lose fluids (3-5 lbs) but even if that, I have lost 10 lbs so far.  It is not bad.  I am still sore.  My left side (where the port is) is the only that bothers me aside from the gas pains.  I have been ambulating great and a lot.  Of course, I have a 3 month old lil one, John Thomas, so I am having to see to him as well.  My hubby is taking care of him...but John Thomas is a mommy's boy!  So, it has been hard for him to understand why I am not picking him up and playing with him like normal.  Hopefully, this stage will be over and I can become the fun mommy again!
XOXOXO Toni
