Back from surgery

May 16, 2007

I am back from surgery and it went really good. This is how it all started. Sunday I was on a all liquid diet, and did pretty well (surprised myself!) We drove to the International House on the campus of Harper University Hospital Its like a 1 star hotel. It was so bad neither I or my husband slept all night, and he can sleep anywhere! Surgery was planned at 12pm Monday, so we headed over to the hospital to get signed in. About 11:30am someone finally came and got me to get me ready for the surgery. I was all hooked up with IVs and blood work was done. Everything was ready. Dr Webber came to visit me and said this would be a breeze, and so now I wait. He had another person go in before me which was not planned but he was backed up. So he took the other person in and it they had alot of complications with them so it took a really long time. I finally got taken back for surgery at 6:30pm. By this time my nerves was shot and I just wanted this to be over. They put me to sleep really quickly, and I dont remember anything in recovery. My husband said he was there and I was talking with him, but I dont recall anything. Finally I got to my room at 10:30pm or so and slept the rest of the night. That morning they came in and broght me some jello and broth. they wanted to discharge me at 11am so I was not charged for another day. They gave me some medications and shots for my stomach that think my blood, that I am to take for the next 2 weeks. So this starts my journey.

Today is Wednesday and I am not feeling good. I feel sick to my stomach and lightheaded. I have slept most of my day away, already. I am trying to walk and sip, and keeping up with my meds. I am not in alot of pain, but I really hurt when I lay down to go to sleep and when I try to roll over, I also dont have a whole lot of gas.
