Hello my name is Joyce and I started out weighing 268 pounds. I was so miserable and out of breath all the time. I went to the doctor in 2007 and the doctor told me I was a borderline diabetic and had high blood pressure. My weight was a big problem. I could not walk for a long period of time or I will be out of breath or my knees will start hurting. So I went to Dr. Davidison in the Presbyterian hospital of Dallas. He was wonderful he ran all kinds of test on me and with my height I was really morbid obese. So I went through the proccedures and went to all the classes. My surgery was sheduled for January 14, 2008. I had Gastric bypass and the surgery went very well. I had to have 2 hernias repaired but other than that I was fine. I feel so much better that I had the surgery. At the beginning I was so sore and my body ache all the time. As of today I am 3 months post-op and I have lost 55 pounds and feeling fine. I still have a long way to go but with the help of the GOOD LORD and my OBS family I will make it. I struggle sometimes with waiting 30 minutes before and after I eat to drink something. I stay away from sugar and carbs. I will eat carbs every now and then. I take my vitamins everyday and have protein everyday. So thank God for allowing me to feel better about my weight loss.
