Andrea S.
My quest begins in early 2006 when at 348lbs, I decided I didn't want my life to be lived without me for one more moment. So I did some homework, took my hubby to a seminar about WLS, and learned that this would be the path that led me back to my life. The more knowledge I gained, the more I knew that bypass was for me. For insurace reasons, I had to do the 6 mo Dr supervised weight loss program. I started in April.
Durring those 6 mos my husband was offered a new position, that was everything that we had been hoping for. Except it was in Southern IN. For the past 7 years I had been living happily in Phoenix, AZ, with no plans of leaving, I might add. We talked and talked about what we should do about this. We finally came to the decision that he would take the job and we would move. However, I was not willing to abandon my journey. I was terrified that if we left, I would have to start over with the whole process. I had worked so hard and jumped through so many hoops that I was not prepared to let go of my dream. So I stayed in Phx with my 2 year old daughter to have my surgery 2 mos and 1 week later.
I was able to lose 45 lbs by the time my surgery came around. On Dec 21, 2006 at 303lbs I had my RNY!! My new birthday! My fresh start! Then on Jan 19 we hit the road to start our new lives in Bedford, IN.
We now have such a blessed and beautiful life, I couldn't have written a more wonderful story for my little family.
