I started my journey back in July when I went to the Abington Institute for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.  I orginally thought I was going to do the Lap Band, but I soon came to realize with a BMI of well over 40, a LapBand was just not realistic.  I did my research and I went with the Gastric Bypas / Rouxen Y Surgery.

Prior to my surgery on November 3rd I weighed in at 285 pounds.  I had to loose 10-15 pounds before my surgeon would do my surgery on November 20th.  I made that goal of 15 pounds!

Today (12/16/08) when I made this profile, I weigh 251 pounds, and it will only go down from there.

I'm tracking my weight loss surgery journey at my Finding Cinderella Blog, stop by and say hi! :)

This is for catt who commented on my profile - OH won't let me post a response for some reason:

Hi Catt -
What changed my mind was the fact that it's a lot easier to cheat with the LapBand, for me personally, I knew if there was a way to cheat, I'd find it.  Also I was over 140 pounds over weight, to me, the lapband seemed that it wouldn't be the tool that I really needed to help me gain a healthier life.  I did my research and it just really made more sense for me to do the Gastric Bypass.  If I cheat on that, or try to, I'll know it - you're body doesn't like "cheating" with the Gastric Bypass.
