"I met Dr. Steve Weiland at the recommendation of my family doctor after already making a decision to have my surgery with someone else. His matter-of-fact approach and honestly about the whole concept of WLS was what made me trust him with my surgery. He doesn't perform the surgery on just anyone. He does it only on someone who is really ready to do this and has tried everything else to be thin and healthy. His office staff is wonderful and very supportive. Although, Dr. Steve Weiland's personality can be strong and abrupt at times, he is an excellent surgeon who does his job well. His confidence is reassurring to say the least. His aftercare program has been made more intense since I have had surgery, since my mother-in-law has recently had the surgery with him. They do require that you follow up every 3 months with him for the first year and then every 6 months for the second and then every year after that."
