3 month follow up

Aug 30, 2009

I am going to Utica for my three month follow-up this week, I am really pleased with my progress this far. It hasn't been easy but it has been worth every minute
I am down 87 lbs since my consult and 74 since my surgery.

I have so much energy and love feeling this good, I go to the gym 4- 5 days a week and truely am starting to enjoy going.

Of course the best part it all the encouragement I have received from my family friends and the people I work with.

I am thankful everyday for my RNY!!

6 Weeks today

Jul 09, 2009

Here it is 6 weeks ago today I had my surgery......still the best decision I have ever made.

I think everything is going well. I have certainly had to experiment with food, and have on occasion eaten too much and up it comes. but that really hasn't happened too often.
I am way less tired than I was at first the iron pills must be working. I have now started eating a bigger selection of food which is great.

I think I have hit a bit of a stall, although I don't seem to be loosing as fast I find my cloths are getting smaller, I have increased my walking so I must be just toning, and not loosing so fast....that's OK too

I have had one little problem I started a few weeks ago with a fullness in my throat which I thought was a stricture. when I called last week my surgeon asked me to come down for an upper endoscopy, he wanted to check it out.  (he is so wonderful to respond and take his patients seriously)  I had that done this morning and it showed some swelling in my throat and inflammation and as well inflammation in my pouch so I am on a week or steroids.
I am just glad that is all it is

I am so Happy with my Progress........and I still have two more weeks before I go back to work

Little Bites of Food ..............Yum

Jun 05, 2009

Well yesterday I started trying little bites of food. I was so exciting. Dr. Fitzer wants you to start with a teaspoon working my way up to a couple of table spoons by the end of the week.
Well you would have thought a teaspoon wouldn't be much but the first time I couldn't eat the whole thing, however I felt so satisfied.  It was a great aAfeeling.

I am so pleased with how I feel and my progress, I am still really really tired with any activity but as people keep reminding me....................I Had Surgery!!!

The scale is decreaseing and that part is great

Home and Feeling Good

May 30, 2009

Just got home today and I can't believe how good I feel. Not ready to run marathons but feeling good. The first night was pretty rough but the Hospital staff was fantastic and everything went well

I had a nice Surprise when I got there I had gained a bit of weight and at my consult weighted 309 the heaviest I have ever been in my life. when I went for my preop testing the day before surgery I was 296 and then down to 290 when I left the hospital yesterday.

I am so Happy I made this decision!!!

I can't believe I am not the least bit hungry........yahoo!
