THE GARBAGE TRUCK...
Apr 10, 2008
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.
So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so..... 'Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.'
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

~~Just my thoughts on how to succeed~~
Apr 06, 2008
I am coming to the realization that to succeed, I must learn why I failed so miserably. The easiest way for me to do that is to use the 12 steps of AA or at least that's where I learned about the 12 steps.
We each have to be accountable for ourselves. I HAVE to stop feeling so damn sorry for myself when things don't go how I want. I HAVE to take control of my eating!! This is how I've managed to do it, as it applies to my life... Everyone is an individual, and reads things and takes things their own way.
1) We admitted we were powerless---That our lives had become unmanageable.
2) Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3) Made a decision to turn our will & lives over to the care of God, as We understood Him.
4) Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5) Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6) Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7) Humbly ask Him to remove our shortcomings.
8) Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9) Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10) Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
11) Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our concious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us, and the power to carry that out.
12) Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message and to practice these principals in all our affairs.
I'm still working on this list. But, it does help. I have figured out why I have done this to myself and my body. Now, I'm working on fixing it.
Thanks for reading.

The hospital in Jackson Wy. wants like $38,000 just for them that don't include anything else.
I can get the surgery, the room for 3 days, the anestesiologist and the 1st year after care in Colorado for a much less price.
So, it's the end of the day, and my decision is to check into Colorado.
Thanks for listening.

My first blog
Mar 28, 2008
I'm having a rough day today. I've got so much going on in my life right now, I just want to scream!! I've been checking into gastric bypass, and I've got people telling me that I should have the lap band. The Dr. I went and saw in Jackson, Wy said I would be a good candidate for the RNY though. Good Lord I hate turmoil... Sheesh!!
