This is happening super fast!!

I went to a seminar on June 8th and decided WLS was for me!  My surgeon required that he received a letter of necessity from my PCP along with 3 years worth of medical records before scheduling my new patient appt with him.  Because I really wanted surgery as soon as possible, things happened out of order.  My 19 year old daughter is a full time college student and will be resuming classes in August and I wanted surgery quickly so she would be home to help me.  For that reason, my new patient appt is on Monday and I have already completed the majority of my pre op testing.  Last Friday I went for my psych eval (I passed!  WOOHOO lol) and today he did an EGD which I also passed.  My insurance does not require pre-authorization... a BMI of 35 and you are good to go.

Before my scope today I talked to him for a few minutes and explained that I really wanted surgery ASAP but his nurse had informed me that he was booked solid in July.  I was so happy when the nurse called this afternoon and told me he will do my surgery on July 22nd... a day he hadn't planned on doing surgery!  How cool is that???   It's been quite a whirlwind as I try to come on here and read as much as I can.  I am a very impatient person so am happy that I didn't have months and months to wait or that my PCP or insurance company didn't make me jump through hoops before scheduling.  I'm feeling like a very lucky girl!
