I found out on 2/21 that I was approved on 2/20.  Had to push my surgery back a week until March 7. This date not written in stone yet either. Awaiting for approval letter to be in the hands of the office coordinator(who is new). Also Dr. Enochs' office is moving to Cary on March 1 so I guess they are jam-packed this week. Although I feel better that it is gonna be a week later because the nursing home that I work in is experiencing this gastrointestinal virus with the staff and residents and although I haven't had it yet, i would hate to get this bug and have to postpone my surgery. God works in mysterious ways. Anyway, am very excited that I am approved and on my way.

My information has officially been received by UHC as of 2-8-07. Have spoken with on of the representatives who was instrumental in getting my paperwork from surgeon, and he said I should have a decision within a week. Keeping my fingers crossed at this point that nothing goes wrong.  Marjohn (UHC rep) was a super nice guy and a huge help. He called the surgeons office 3 times and requested my paperwork. If it hadnt been for him it probably would still be sitting on a desk in the office.  Any  whoo. I have a tentative surgery date for feb 28, 2007. WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went for my results visit today with surgeon to go over all my test results. He says everything looked great and the next step is to go to insurance. Coordinator (who handles this) assurred me that she would get it in right away. She said hopefully i could have surgery in about 2 weeks if there are no hitches with insurance, and she said she didnt expect any. Insurance (UHC choice plus) told me that they were required by law to give approval or rejection within 15 days.

I had my drug and alcohol (required by UHC) and  my last preop appointment on 1-5-07. I have now received clearance from all the required doctors. Woohoo!!!! Just hope things go as well with UHC. Then I guess I will go back to surgeon to finalize and get a date. Am so ready.

Am on the road to all the tests now. Molly send me a letter with all my appointments and they are once a week almost which is good. Have had my psych eval, labs, xrays, upper GI, and have my cardio appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Things are going really smooth and fast at this point. Hope it continues to be as smooth. Am sorta holding my breath and waiting for that "bump in the road". I am really excited and anxious. Will post again later on my continued journey.

Had first visit with Dr. Enochs yesterday. Missed my turn and got lost but called and Mary talked me through it. Everyone was so extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Enochs was very nice and answered my questions in a very detailed manner. He took all the time I needed to be sure I had all my questions answered. He wasn't bad to look at either. LOL. Anyway, He did take the wind out of my sails when he said I had to stop smoking. So now another hard feat to accomplish. So new journey in the process. it is hard!!!!!!!!!!
