m name is gail winship i am a wife mother and grandmother of 3 and i am happier now than i was . i couldn,t walk very far without stoping to rest along the way. i weighed 324 pounds at the time and had alot of medically problems the biggest was that i had diabetes. and was thalking pills for that then came the insulin shots. so i went to my medical doctor and told him i wanted to have something done. so i talked to him about gastric bypass surgery done. i has seen a friend of mine that had it done and she looked great. he gave me the name of the dr that did the surgery and made me an appoint to see him . i went to williamsville
to see dr carauna and he said that i was a good canidate for it . i went to subcon to the support group and listen and learned what everyone had to say. this was in may of 2004. i couldn,t even play on the floor with my grand children.at the time . i went in on a wed may 19th and had the surgery done. at sisters hospital. and came home on a saturday.i did every thing that i was suppose to do and a week out i walked about 10 blocks from our house to the walmart and back home again with out stopping.
i felt great and looked good and the dr said all was ok i was just getting into eating regular food and went to the dr,s and asked
the dr that i wanted to eat salad and he said that i could try a salad . i now can say i am doing better and i am able to play on the floor with the grand children. i was taking 18 different meds aday and now i am taking 6 now and no insulin shots i went from324 to 185 now
