Todays been a really good day!

May 26, 2009

Why has today been a wonderful day?

1.  I received a call from my doctors office telling me that we're good to go. We originally thought I'd be looking at
June 17th or so, but she was able to get me scheduled first thing in the morning on June 9th.

2. When I picked my eighth grader up from school he handed me an official looking paper. It was his End-of-Grade
results for math, reading, and science. He passed all three! Now that may seem like no big deal, but I'm dealing with
a narcoleptic who sometimes can't manage to get out of bed, let alone wake up. He also was out for almost a month
around the holidays having emergency surgery due to an e-coli infection in his knee. And the icing on the cake is that
he was diagnosed with depression a couple of months ago. He's making progress which is good.

3. I've been job hunting for the last two months. Applied to US Air and was just about to clench it when they decided not
to fill the position. While conducting my daily routine of checking the different carriers for jobs, I found that jetBlue
reopened some positions here in Charlotte. So they may be seasonal and part-time, jetBlue doesn't furlough. Either
way, the main thing is that I'd have my foot in the door and I'd be back in the industry that I love.

The last, and most important reason that todays been a wonderful day:

4. My son is in the living room entertaining himself and laughing. Not just a giggle, but those deep guttural laughs!
    Life is good.

Pre-op testing..possible surgery date

Apr 14, 2009

I just dropped off the last of my test results to my surgeon. It's now being submitted to the insurance company for approval. His office is confident that I"ll be scheduled for surgery within the next week due to the possibility of my not having insurance after the end of the month. Long story. Fired for clerical error by vendor who processes employers Family Medical Leave paperwork. I'm fighting for reinstaqtement of my employment. In the immortal words of Tom Petty: "Well, I won't back down. No I won't back down. You can march me up to the gates of hell, but I won't back down".
