I have been fighting weight loss all of my life. At one time, when I lived in California I was able to lose 100 pounds on a 500 calorie a day diet but I was 25 years old. I started running and ran three miles a day. I had friends who ate healthy and were healthy and I stayed on track. Then I moved to Michigan and slowly started to gain weight. The arthritis in my knees got very bad and I had a hard time running. I got a desk job and little by little gained weight, I have tried every diet under the sun, and lost and gained and lost and gained. I began looking at bariatric surgery about 5 years ago, and it has taken me this long to come to a final decision. Now that the surgery is scheduled and I have been through classes, nutrittional counseling, psychological counseling, and a personal trainer I feel good about my decision. I have a dress that I saved from 20 years ago and I look at it every day and my goal is to feel as good as I felt when I wore that dress. My husband loves me very much and is very supportive, but the weight gain has been hard on him. I am looking forward to this journey, and with the support of God and my loved ones, I know I will succeed! I am married, have 6 kids, my youngest is 13, and have two grandkids and one grandnephew. I Am excited about the future!
