5 months and counting

Dec 22, 2013

It has been 5 months since my surgery.  I have lost 60 pounds so far.  Not as fast as some, but I think just right for me.  I went from a 26W to a 20W.  I am off my diabetic meds and my blood pressure meds.  Doing great!

Not long now!

May 30, 2013

I work for a school district.  Tomorrow is our last day.  I am so excited because I can finally concentrate on what I need to do to prepare for surgery in July.  I bought baby spoons and forks yesterday and I already own a few very small bowls.  Now if I can just get the sipping part down.  Training myself to not drink while eating.  It is a bit difficult, but I will get used to it soon.

Goals?

May 24, 2013

I am trying to set some good achievable goals for myself during this journey in my life.  I am having problems setting realistic ones.  I would LOVE to wear a size 5.  Realistically my build will never allow for that.  I come from a looooooonnnnnng line of large German/Czech women.  Most 6ft and broad shouldered.  In other words, Amazons.  I missed the height by several inches but I sure have the broad shoulders and broad hips.  I know I need to make reasonable goals that are attainable and lifestyle changes that will ensure I keep the weight off.  Just not exactly sure where to start or what I want.

A month and a half before surgery

May 21, 2013

I am just now having to quit caffeine.  I am used to 1 cup of coffee a day and coke zero.  This is killing me, but it is all for the best.  I am also diabetic.  I go back on the 29th to have my sugars rechecked.  If the new meds aren't working then they will have to move me to insulin.  Trying very hard not to have to use insulin.  Now, if I can just get the exercise in on a regular basis.  I have been using my Xbox Kinect to play Dance Central.  A lot of fun.
