M. Whitney Parnell

"I saw her for the first time at the educational meeting for the Bariatric Program at the hospital. I felt that she seemed sympathetic and concerned about the problems of obesity and confident in their groups ability to help. This is a new program with only about 30 patients post op. I felt like the doctors (Dr. Parnell and one of her partners, Dr. Richard Fermelia) were very interested in the whole picture of preop, surgical and post op care. They plan on following up with patients for at least 5 years. They address all the risks of obesity as well as the risks of surgery. They answered all questions posed honestly and without guise. There seemed to be quite a lag time between getting all the prerequisite visits done and getting things sent to insurance. About 4 weeks where nothing happened. I am not sure where the responsibility for this lands but it was a little frustrating. I met with my surgeon for my consult and I am so confident in her abilities. She is very intelligent, kind and compassionate. She seems to have a sense of humor and I am looking forward to working with her."

Carol Fischer

"She is so very compassionate and caring. She lets you speak your mind and helps with all she can. She will send you to a specialist if she feels you need more specialized care than she is able to offer."
