It is never an easy decision.

Mar 27, 2010

It is never and easy decision to what has been a life long habit. I decided on Gastic Bypass because I had been a diabetic since I was 27 years old. I was not really sure that having the surgery would aliveate the dibetes. I was willing to take that risk.
I am going to be 60 in June. I adopted my 5 grandchildren in April of 08. I decided to go for my first appointment on May 21 of 08. One thing after the other seemed to stand in the way of getting the surgery, from my husband having the house remodeled in late October of 08 to my breaking an ankle in December of 08.  I still had not had my sleep study and it was mid July when things fell into place. The sleep study and then the physcological evaluation. The surgery was set for 9-15-09. I have not regretted, not even on the days when I felt a little sick. I not know to take a little bite, wait to see if it agrees with me and if it does, I finish eating it.

It takes patience, but I feel with a lot of support, from family foremost and from friends who care about you. There are those of us here that will help you along. In the end though, the final decision is yours to make. We stand in our shoes alone and nobody wears our pants but us. How big do we want them to be!. Take care my friend and G-d Bless us all.
