I've been overweight my entire life. I come from an Italian family who loved to cook good food. My grandmother would tell me it was "a sin" not to finish the food on my plate.
After college and wanting to go into Veterinary Medicine, I attended culinary school. Needless to say, I love to cook good food and I love to eat it!!
My husband of 12 years and I had our first child in 1998, a boy. Since he's been born, I have been a stay-at-home-home-schooling mom. We love to travel and in 2005, while on an 8 month journey around the world, I got pregnant with my second child.
As with my first child, our daughter was born naturally (no meds, no docs) in March 2006.
Today I live in Bowie, MD, a suburb of Washington DC, in my 1944 post-war cottage with my 2 kids, my husband and my big gray kitty cat.
I hope that this journey takes me to places I've never been before....thin.
