I am 43 and I am married to my 
Angel, Gina since 1999. I weigh about 415 pounds and looking to get down to 185. I have been in Law-Enforcement all my adult Life and in 2005 had to retire due to my decline in health.
I have gained about 70 pounds since I last worked and not very happy with my weight and that my life has come to a stand-still. After reading many stories on ObesityHelp and other WLS blogs, I have made my mind up and started looking for a a well qualified surgeon, Hence Dr. Frantzides.
My first visit he informed me so much of the WLS procedure and we came to the conclusion the Gold Standard in todays practices is the Roux-En-Y Bypass. the advantage is the many co-morbitidies I have will at least go into re-mission or be gone afater losing the weight..............no more insulin pump and medicines hopefully 
Well it is Sunday June 15, 2008 and hopefully I will know for sure this week from insurance. Hopefully get the WLS date. I will be having it done at Evanston-Northwest Hosptial (ENH)
Dr. Frantzides has many pre-operative exams before he will operate and I'm glad he does so at least I know where my health is in depth at this point in my life.
My wife has been overweight her adult life. After a higher blood sugar scare she went on Weight Watchers and has lost almost 50 pounds......and has kept it off so she is inspiring me 
also.
