Today is my 6 mos. post op date. I have lost 96lbs and I feel great. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful I feel. To everyone who is considering wls please keep in touch with this site. I honestly don't think I would have made it without my oh family...

I am one month out...I had my appointment with the doctor today. Everything is going well for me. I am having indigestion issues that are minor. This surgery has been unbelievable so far. It's amazing. I am very pleased with the weight loss results. I am very pleased with the doctor I chose. He is awesome, along with his staff. My wishes and encouragements goes out to anyone who is thinking about WLS. Until next time take care my OH family...

My surgery is scheduled for 1010 in the morining. I have to be at the hospital at 0810. Today has been more relaxing than I thought It would be. I worked until 1. Came home took a much needed nap. I did some laundry and packed my bag for tomorrow. I put God first in everything I do so I have no worries because He is always with me, even until the end of time.The journey is not over, it is just beginning...

I am officially approved! My surgery date will be Dec. 29th. This all works out good. Im not originally from where i live. So my mom will be out on school break from work and she can come up and help me post op. My daughter will also be home on winter break and she will be available to help out too. I have to have a ICV filter placed prior to surgery. It is a filter that will be placed in my groin area to prevent blood clots. I had a PE in the past and I am allergic to blood thinners. This is going to all work out fine. I will keep you guys updated...

I called my insurance company today and a rep. told me that I didnt need prior approval. I had him call the insurance rep. at the clinic to let her  know that information. Right now I am waiting on a call or email from the clinic. I am a little impatient. I know that Im not the only patient there but I need some assurance. I work on a 6-8wk schedule and everything will have to be worked around my surgery...

Finally, Im done with my tasks and my information was sent for approval today. So now I will be waiting and continuing to stick with my pre-op diet. Ive been doing good so far. Im actually surprise at myself. This just goes to show that I am serious and committed to a lifestyle change for a healthier and longer life. I will keep you guys posted...

Well I'm on my way! I had my lab work done. Most of it came back good. My vitamin-D is low. I had to get a prescription for that. My potassium came back and I had to double up on my potassium for a few days and start adding food high in potassium to my diet. I had my physical along with the lab work and it all went good. I had my psych. eval and that went well also. It was very interesting being that I've never been to a psychologist before. I go to the nutritionist tomorrow. I'm still waiting on my appt. to have endoscopy done before I can have my case sent into the insurance. I'm believing that things will go well and I hope to have my surgery on Dec. 31st. That's my goal! I will keep you all posted...
