I started my WLS journey on January 1, 2007. I've had to fill out LOTS of paperwork and a couple of 2 hr online surveys. I had to go to my primary care dr and have a physical and blood work. I had to have an Upper GI test, which the surgeon (Dr. Weaver) at St. Francis requires everyone to have. I then had to see a psychiatrist, where I had to take a 500 question test.I then saw a dietician. Then, I had to take 2 nutritional education classes, which I just finished. Then we submitted my claim to insurance. I was denied because apparently in 2002 (they go back 5 yrs) I wasn't FAT enough. So, Mama said she'd pay for it out of pocket. All $17,000 of it...wow..I'm still in shock over that one. My next step is to see Dr. Weaver on the 20th of June . Then I will do my 2 wk liver-shrink diet and then have surgery around the 4th of July. I will know more soon....
