I have been overweight most of my life. I am married to a wonderful man who is also overweight. We have both tried many times to lose weight but the pounds seem to creep up not down. We have a beautiful 4 year old daughter. She wants to be just like mommy. Once she told me that she wanted a big belly like mommy, I knew it was time to get help.
It took almost 6 months between the time I first met my surgeon and when I was approved for surgery. My husband has started his process hoping to have surgery in the spring.
I had a gastric bypass on Oct. 3rd. On Oct. 8th I was brought to the emergency room where I was then brought in for a hernia and bowel reconstruction surgery. It has been a long road but am glad I am making the journey.
