I was a blossoming 390# guy from the sticks of Concord NH. Did a bunch of research realized I was going to have to travel and chose Dr Herron a partner at the time with Dr Gagner @ Mt Sinai. In 2001 Dr Herron (w/ Dr Pomp assist) performed a BPD-DS (LAP). I had terrific results dropped to my goal weight in 14 months 235#, no complications. Lived the BPD-DS lifestyle with no issues until Feb. 2004. I had an infarcted bowel that I exasperated to make it life threatening by taking an oral FLEET dumb desperate move in attempt to relieve the pressure (at that time I had no idea 3' of my small intestine spun like sausage and died on the vine so to speak) creating all this pressure and discomfort. I'll never know the reason why the infarction occurred but it happened quick and without warning and if I had to guess it was as simple as me needing to chew my food. I was basically in a rush while eating chicken basically ate a big chunk of cartilage and drumstick end and coughed it down instead of the proper chewing technique that your parents trained at an early age. 6 hours later the above onset. Anyway the local Docs removed the bowel and restored me to normal anatomy. In 6 years I proceeded to gain to the point of 360#'s and looked up Dr. Herron again and in June 2010 he with Dr Kini assist, they put me back to BPD-DS status. Presently 7 months out dropping the pounds and feeling good again.
