Daniel accompanied me to the informational session. Daniel is opposed to RNY, but is open to Lap-Band since it is reversible and not a "slice and dice" operation. He is scared to death of my dying during an "optional" procedure. I think that my job really is to educate him that there is nothing optional about weight loss surgery for me. Anyway, the presentation was more of a series of patient testimonials - not much hard information, unfortunately.

Today I made contact with the Lap-Band coordinator, who is sending me a packet of information and information on the next seminar. I wonder how long it takes to get approved?

Finally. Daniel and I have been researching WLS options, and he has reluctantly agreed to find out more about the Lap-Band procedure with me. I went to lap-band.com to find out if they had a list of surgeons. It did. The Lap-Band web site returned a list of surgeons in my area. The closest surgeon to me appears to be Dr. Mark Fusco, in Melbourne. The next informational session is in December.
