"I had the vertical banded gastroplasty done by Dr. Ritter in 2003. There were no complications, but there was also no follow up. I was from out of state and instead of encouraging me to seek out a surgeon in my own state, and help and follow-up there, he did my surgery regardless of the fact I wouldn't be back for follow-up. Over all I think he was excellent, but hind sight knowing that follow-up is major key to success with any of these surgeries I should never have gone to him. I hope he also chooses not to take patients out of the area."
