"This doctor told me I had an emotional relationship with carbohydrates and I needed to admit that I over ate!!!! Which I don't, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance which made it hard for me to lose weight and easier to gain no matter what I ate!!!! I agree I did make some bad choices about food because my condition drove me to do so, but I never at anytime over ate!!!"
"Well I haven't had surgery yet, but I have met with Dr. Nighbert and practically all of his staff. (Date Oct. 7, 2003)
My first impression of him was good, I thought he was very approachable, and he made me feel comfortable, and not gross like I have seen other people look at me.
The office staff is great, I know I called them a dozen times, to ask questions, check on my insurance approval, etc. They never hesitated to help me. They did not look at me different either (which is nice).
Future patients should know that this program is excellent, they have support group meeting every month and are all about your nutrition and care, it is like "they" want you to succeed as much as you want to. They give you excellent resources and don't let you go into the surgery blindly.
He told me all of the risks of surgery, in a pre-op meeting. And he said it was important for me to follow the guidelines in order to be a healthy patient as well.
I would rate him a 9 out of 10. We'll see what I think after surgery, later, lol..
