Life is great
Aug 03, 2009
I am digging into the closet and bring out clothes I thought I would never wear again. I haven't started ditching the big stuff but I will soon.
I am down 30 pounds in 4 weeks, I am amazed, 30lbs in 30 days is amazing. Thanks Dr. Caucucci, you did an amazing job.

3 Days and I will be in Recovery
Jul 04, 2009
I have a strange sense of calm, I am not nervous today, I am looking forward to it.
I have always had trouble with food, but over the years I had ways to deal with it. One by one my coping mechanisims failed and then my body started failing me. I managed to keep my weight down while I spent 20 years in the military but once I retired I balooned up fast and never got back down. I have a choice, RNY or seriously declining health.
I can hardly wait until Tuesday, thanks to all for supporting me in this journey.
4 Days, Doing Great

Change of Doctor and Hospital
May 18, 2009
I changed programs, and I am really glad I did. The new program is closer to my house and I am much more impressed with the staff. I was a little worried about the other staff, they were a small outfit and didn't seem to have a lot of resources. I am with St. Vincents in Carmel now and I love it.
Moving Past the First Step

I have had several appointments now and I am waiting for my Insurance approval. Thankfully I don't have to do 6 months of supervised diet like some programs, that would be hard and I feel for those that have to go through that. This seems pretty normal so far, I am sure once I am approved and have surgery scheduled things will change.
