Like everyone I have struggled with my weight most of my life.  It really began in puberty.  I have always been the heaviest person in my group of friends.  And, like everyone, I have done all the diets to loose the weight.  Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Phen-Fen just to name a few.  When people think that heavy people are lazy, that couldn't be further from the truth.  We are constantly looking for ways to loose weight.

I wouldn't say I am an emotional eater.  I just don't burn what I eat.  I attended the informational class on January 3rd 2009.  I met with my surgeon, Dr. Mattar on Jan. 12th.  I was so nervous that I would hit another dead end to my latest weightloss plan.  I knew that my BMI was right on the cusp, and sure my insurance would not cover me.  He welcomed me and actually thanked me for coming in so young and healthy, neither of which I felt I was.  He said he thought I was an excellent candidate for the surgery, and felt we could do it in 3 months.  I am still not allowing myself to get excited just yet.  He said that he usually doesn't have any problem with Aetna insurance.  But, I am waiting to see.  I have only told 2 of my friends.  Just in case this doesn't happen for me, I don't want to look like a failure again.  I go back for my Psych on Feb. 12 and meat the dietician again.

Dr. Mattar started me on the Liver Reduction Diet.  I am struggeling, but getting it done.  After one week, I have lost 6 lbs.
