I just got a message from a friend who had the DS the same time as I did 2 1/2 years ago in Hermosillo with Dr. Ungson. It escaped me how much time has passed since I last posted and updated my profile. I have had an amazing journey with my DS. I lost a person, but gained a whole new life!
I started off at 227 lbs of fat, ugly blubber. That may not sound like a great deal of weight to some people, but since I am just barely 5' tall, that is a lot of weight to lug around. I found my weight really disabling, physically and mentally. Thanks to Dr Ungson, I have a metabolism of a thin person. I can eat anything I want, just not a large amount! But I can eat, every 2 to 3 hours, and I enjoy my food and enjoy being able to eat my pasta, chocolate or ice cream, and not worry about calories!
Now I am really way below goal weight. I am down to 72 lbs, which I know is not healthy. I had some emergency surgery as my bowel shut down from adhesions about 7 months ago. Since I have been advised to have a revision to my DS, but I really don't think I am ready to take a chance of ever being fat again. I love being a thin person.
True, I may not look good in a bathing suit now, as I am too bony, but then I didn't look good in a bathing suit before my DS either. So maybe within time, I will regain some weight; meanwhile I will just take my Vitamins, drink my Protein Drinks, and enjoy being a thin person.
I love my DS !
