It seems like my story is the same as many others. I have tried everything and nothing works, I have been through it all. But I never really considered Gastric Bypass until I started this new job of mine almost 2 years ago. When I started I had a meeting with one of the companies "big" bosses. It was then I discovered he had just had Gastric Bypass 8 weeks earlier. I remember thinking to myself how does he do it as large as he is. He flies all over the US. Then a few months lated I met another Manager doing my same job just in another state and he was young and had just had surgery. So you see I was able to talk to 2 different people and watch their progress. I at that point knew I had to do something as I was leaving for vacation and had not flown in a few years when I went to buckle up the seat belt was too small, wow what an awakening. But I still only half heartedly inquired about the surgery. Then we purchased a convertible and guess what I only drove it one summer before I could not fit any more. Now things are starting to hit home. The final straw for me was one day I am pumping gas and the lady walks up to me and starts a conversation like she has known me forever. I had no clue and she sensed this and ask me Do you know who I am? I responded that no I did not. She looked at me and said "Jackie it's me Lynn we have known each other for years". I then asked " What happened"? She than told me she had had gastric bypass 8 months before. Well needless to say that was the straw that broke the camels back. I started my research and having come from a family of "large" people I wanted more for myself. I found the Barix clininc went for the seminar and with in 2 months I had a date and surgery and have not looked back.
