It's been a long time since I posted

Gosh, nothing like waiting six months between posts.  I went to support group last night and got lots of compliments (which makes one feel good).  I got a pin for the 50 pound loss and someone else got a 100 pound pin.

I have lost 80 pounds as of this week.  I am very excited and had to buy some new clothes on my lunch break!  I am in a 14 or 16 which is amazing.  I was not this small in high school!

Things have been going along well and some weeks I seem to hold onto the weight and then I will have a big loss.  I am scheduled for another fill on Aug 10th.

I will try and be better at posting.  Next week is my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY.  How exciting!

Day in the life of the Lapband

Oct 16, 2006

Dec 20,2006  Had another fill this week.  I hope this is the correct amount.  I have not had any problems at night so I am thankful for that.  Maybe my weight will start to fall off.  I really need to exercise.

Last week I had to go an get some of the fill taken out.  I am at 2.6cc because I spent a whole week being sick and having to sit up in bed to sleep.  I had such bad acid reflux that it was not worth it.  I feel much better now and able to get food in and keep it in.  I lost 9 pounds in seven days but that is because I could not keep anything down.  I am scheduled for another fill on Dec 18th.

11/27/2006 Had my third fill this afternoon.  I am up to 2.9 cc in the small band.  I really needed a fill two weeks ago but could not get in.  This was the first Thanksgiving that I did not feel stuffed.  It actually went pretty well.  The doctor gave me a large fill today (.8cc) and told me that I would be very tight.  I just pray that I will not have problems.

10/31/2006  Weight is coming off slowly but the scale is still moving down and I am not terribly hungry.  This week has been hard with all the Halloween candy around and I have not been exercising at all.  I really need to put myself first and make myself healthy.  Parent teacher conferences are over and baseball season is finished so I plan to hit the gym hard.  My birthday is in January and I really want to have dropped 20+ pounds by then.  I did go shopping over the weekend and got into a size 20 pants.  I started out in a 24/26 so I was happy and suprised that the 20's fit.  I did not buy anything because I would rather wait until I am in an 16/18.

10/2/2006 It is close to TOM and so I have decided not to weigh. I have been walking and trying to drink tons of water. I am very tight and EVERYTHING is getting stuck. I went out to lunch last Friday with my old boss and of course food got stuck. I have to go to the bathroom and PB. Yesterday was horrible, nothing would go down. I know this is because of TOM because a few days ago I did not have this problem. I am getting frustrated because I thought the weight would come off faster. I am tired all the time. I thought with the weight loss I would have more energy. Someone on the boards asked if I was getting in enough protein. I have not been tracking how much I have been eating but I am sure that could be the problem. I think I am only eating 800-1000 calories a day.

9/23/06 Second fill has really kicked in. I have had some trouble with solids. Went out to lunch yesterday and could only eat two bites. I am really concentrating on eating protein. Have not had much hunger which is really nice.

9/18/2006 Got my second fill today. Everything went real well. No fainting this time. I hope I can really start dropping the weight. I am back on liquids for two days. I am down another 3 lbs.

9/11/2006 Had a hard time with sticking to the diet. Ate a lot of junk and wanted my daughter to make choc chip cookies but I came to my senses and told her NOT to. I don't know what set me off because I was not even hungry. I did exercise to try and make up for the damage I did. I am down to 239 as of this morning. I have an appointment for my second fill on Sept 18th.

9/2/2006 All week I have been disapointed because I really could not feel any restriction since I had my first fill last Monday. I know that it takes 3-5 fills before one gets to their "sweet spot" but I thought I would feel some restriction. It has been five days and the fill finally kicked in. I feel tight and NO hunger. I exercised this morning and got down one cup of coffee. So hang in there newbies and don't get disappointed. THe restriction WILL kick in.

8/28/2006 Saw Dr. W today for my first fill. We had a hard time trying to figure out how many cc's he should use. He started out with 2.5 cc which caused pressure in my chest and then I started sweating and got very dizzy. He took saline out and we ended up with 1.4 cc in a small band. He wanted to show me what it was like to be too tight. I am back on liquids for the next 2-3 days. So far I cannot tell that I had a fill but other bandsters said it may take a week to really kick in. I have been starving most of the day so I will be happy once I can start back on solids. Down another 3 pounds.

8/14/2006 Saw Dr. W today. Everything has healed nicely. I have dropped 17 pounds so far.

7/25/2006 Not much pain from the surgery but the pain from the gas is really bad. My shoulders are killing me. I feel bloated and look pregnant. I have been walking to get this gas out of me. Right now I don't care what end it comes out of. Good thing is my weight is coming off.

7/20/2006-Banded today. Got to the hospital at 7:30 am and had surgery at 10am. Was back at home by 3:00. I feel suprisingly good. I hope the rest of the week goes this good. Starting weight is 265.
