Shelby Baptist Medical Center

"I had one very motherly nurse during the night shift. She was very helpful and was sure to check on me regularly. However, my day nurse had to be paged every time I needed pain medication or food. I had to keep up with how many hours it had been since I had any. She was very insensitive to the surgery I had. I got the impression that she looked down on me for it. When it was time for my Iv to be taken out she wouldn't bother. It wasn't until the IV was wedged in sideways and eventually fell out along with a lot of blood did she take it out. When it was time for me to go home she made me walk to the car rather than get me a wheelchair. My mother was more of a nurse than she was. In fact my mother was the one that got me food and brought in aspirin for me to take when I was too out of it to beg the nurse for them. "

Rex Sherer

"Dr. Sherer is wonderful. He's very kind and takes time to answer any questions. My consult with him was one on one. He made sure I knew what I was getting into. It wasn't like a previous consult I had gone to where everyone was herded into a room. It was not very different than a regular doctor's visit. His staff is great especially Miles. Miles handles all the insurance paperwork. He's very good at his job and gives me the impression that he will not send anything in unless he's absolutely sure the person will be approved. I was approved the first time. "
