"The day shift nurses were completely none-existant. The night shift was impeccable. During the day, I had hit the call button 3 times, after each time someone radioing in saying someone was on their way, as did my roommate for me also. No one came. I was worried because my drainage tube was leaking all over me, I even yelled and grabbed someone from the hallway, they said they would get someone. No one came, in like, 3 hours! One of the Dr.'s that was checking in came in and ended up cleaning it himself, and a nurse finally came a 1/2 hour after. Just a warning about the day shift. I didn't mind not seeing them until I really needed them."
"It's a little hard to find her office and she was kind enough to take me later in the day because it took 30 minutes to find her. She seemed nice and talked to me about everything I should know. The only complaint is she seemed to talk at me more than to me, if you get my drift. Who knows though, she might have been having a tough day. :)"

"I met w/ Dr. Colella last month for my consultation and it made me even more sure that having the surgery will be great for me. He was very personal and laid back and answered any questions I had.
One thing I found very nice was that he made me and my mom very comfortable.
I haven't met all of the staff at the office, but I did deal w/ Karen for the insurance part. She seems v. wonderful and I'm sure I'm going to be buggin her a lot when the time comes to get my insurance approval :)
I don't think we discussed aftercare a whole bunch, mostly the surgery itself and the risks involved, but I know the class I have to take towards November discusses it, so I'm not worried.
I hear they have a support group, which I will try to get involved in, especially as the date nears, and they are the ones that reccommended me to this site in the first place.
I know we're not supposed to rate our Dr.'s perfect, so I'll give him an 8/9 because I wasn't there all that long w/ him. I honestly have nothing bad to say. He has a great reputation from everyone I've talked to and as a person, is rated v. highly.
Personally, I think surgical competence and beside manner have to be evenly high in one's mind when selecting a surgeon. This one appears to have both!
