Goal Reached!!

May 01, 2018

So, this past weekend I reached my goal! It was so amazing to see that in 7 months I crushed my goal.

I have set a second goal I guess I didn't realize how rapidly I would lose weight! So, can't wait to go shopping for summer clothes. I haven't worn shorts in public for 10 years. Can't wait to show off the new me!

6 month mark

Apr 03, 2018

First thing first, be this time went by much faster than I thought. I am 5lbs away from my first goal. I am so proud of myself for making this decision to have surgery and remaining true to myself.

I had my 6 month follow up yesterday and all is great!! My labs are spot on, I've lost 74% of my body weight. Which sounds like Wow and where at the same time, but I definitely can feel that it is gone. ????  As of yesterday I am 195lbs and no longer in the obese section of the BMI chart my BMI is now 28.

Next, I have to decide my new weight loss goal, work on gaining muscle to replace that fat and learn to maintain what I want to be at.

Ugh...

Mar 12, 2018

I wrote a really long and drawn out post about my first shopping experience and accidentally it close instead of post. So, because I don't want to write it again at this time.

I have lost 70lbs  five months out and only 7lbs from my actual goal. Thinking of my next goal and I am now a shopoholic.

I will tell all the details later when I get over deleting that whole faboulous blog. THEY SO NEED A SAVE BUTTON!!!

3 months out

Jan 04, 2018

So, I'm three months out and I am feeling great. I haven't had any major issues and I am quickly learning my new stomach.

I have lost over 50lbs and I am only 22lbs away from my first weight loss goal. I am so glad I made the decision to have bariatric surgery, I feel my energy level increasing as I continue this journey.

My biggest fear at this point in time is standing up at work and my pants/skirt fall down because I have lost so much weight. Although it's not quite time for a waredrobe update...soon though.

My word of advice for newbies take it one day at a time not all days are the same. Some maybe easy and some may be hard but you will eventually feel better.

Been awhile..

Nov 15, 2017

So, it's been awhile since I written anything. I'm going to say a few critical things I've learned in that time of silence.

  1. Dry skin sucks! I thought I had fleas I was so itchy that I was misreable for a week until I got paid and bought some Advance Therapy Lubriderm. I swear by that know. Gotta stock up or winter is really gonna suck.
  2. Eating soto fast hurts in every level if your being. The other day I was hungrier than I thought and scarfed down half a turkey burger. That was the worst feeling in the world trying not to throw up. I immedately  regretted eating. I didn't vomit but I did lay my crazy ass down for a good 45 mins so it could digest. I will NEVER do that again. I only have to do it once.
  3. I got a second job as a cake decorator and I am around all the temptation of my past and I have no desire to eat/sample any of it. Now that's true will power.
  4. Still struggling with the protien per day but I have increased my water intake.
  5. Really really all of a sudden missing pizza not my ultimate weakness chocolate but pizza I really didn't care that much about pizza before.

That is really all that I have for now. Guess I will continue to learn more about my new stomach.

Year Older

Oct 21, 2017

So, my birthday was a couple of days ago. Needless to say it was a traditional birthday with all the sweet goodies. It was hard for me, but I kept myself busy and managed to not miss the tradition. Aside from the traditional I wonder how all the rest of the holidays for this year will work for me. I had been so used to food making me happy that I don't know what to do on those special occasion

Today I treated my daughter and I to a belated birthday gift of the movies. The moment I pulled up it hit me that I couldn't eat popcorn, have a soda or even some sour patch kids. I was immediately sadden, but pulled myself together for my daughter. Afterwards, I realized I survive without all that junk and yet ago food was something to make me happy. I still had a good time and enjoyed the movie.

1 Week

Oct 07, 2017

I'm officially one week post op today and I feel great! I've lost 10lbs since my pre op weigh in. My one week appointment with the surgeon is in Monday. I heard from my nurse a couple days ago and she told me to start my vitamins and full liquid diet. Just in time....I was totally over the clear diet.

I found a food processor at a second hand store yesterday and I am super excited about using it for my puree stage here in one week.

I myself didn't really have much pain after surgery but there was a lot of gas discomfort. The walking and gas x most certainly helped with that. They aren't lying when they say keep moving to help move the gas it totally works.

Going Home

Oct 01, 2017

Today I get to go home. I've been in the hospital for two days. Yesterday, I could have gone home but my Upper GI happened late in the day. So u started my Phase 1 diet last night.

I still feel exhausted, prehaps from all the meds I'm on. My pain is not that bad , it's more on the mild side. I have been taking pain meds at night to pretty much sleep comfortably.

I get a little discomfort with walking but I keep moving along. I feel the rumbles in my gut but yet to pass gas. I also coughed unexpectedly twice yesterday and thought I died. My night nurse told me to hold a pillow over my belly and apply pressure when cough.
