only five days left and still 5 lbs. to go...

Jul 08, 2009

I know it didn't help being away from home for 7 days and eating out everyday, but really- I thought I would have lost more than just a couple of pounds. I walked miles, I made good food choices....feeling a little frustrated because I didn't think that this 10lbs would be so hard to loose!

less than 1 week....

Jul 07, 2009

...after spending the week in San Diego I am looking forward to getting home so I can jump on the scale and hopefully see a loss. I have been really good with my eating this week and getting lots of exercise in. I am now offically gettng excited! Can't believe my surgery is going to happen in just 5 days!  I hope to be able to do some online classes while I am recovering, it will keep me from getting bored and help me earn more money next year!

March Madness...

Mar 31, 2009

I guess I am on the slow track. The first WLS center I went to kind of jerked me around a bit regarding insurance. They kept saying they would "make it work". Well I didn't find them very helpful so I talked to someone at work about it and eventually got steered in the RIGHT direction! Yay me! I found Puget Sound Surgical Center, they are an in network provider so  instead of paying 30% I'll only be paying 10%- awesome! I just met with Dr. Billing last week and had my initial consultation at PSSC, yesterday I met with the nutritionist. I have an appointment on the 10th with Dr. Billing again so he can look at my esophagus and then... hopefully... A DATE!

Just getting started...

Well, I've decided to research the lap band procedure. I've already gone to a seminar and it sounds like a tool that could really help me. I'm definitely one of the "hungry all the time" people. I've always been fat, well except for the one time I lost about 65 lbs- I was close to "normal" size. Other than that I've only been able to loose and gain back 20-30 lbs at a time.

I'm in the process of making a financial plan that will accomodate me having the procedure done. I'm lucky to have pretty good insurance, however it seems that there are no "prefered providers" in this area so I'll be paying 30% of the total cost. I can definitely deal with it.

I just wanted to get up and running here, I've found that OH.com and the lapband talk forums have been soooo helpful in gathering information. Thank you all who have posted. I hope to be able to do the same with my journaling.
