I have battled my weight all my life. I have done many diets, including WW, Atkins, Slimfast, diet pills, etc... I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2006. I was extremely sick for about a year. I spent more time in the hospital than with my husband and two children. I was overweight at that time, but after prescribing prednisone to me, the wieght piled on fast! I have an 9 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter. I had no energy to play with them, and unfortunately, they picked up my eating habits. Both my children have a little too much weight on, more so my daughter than my son. I blame myself all the time! I decided to have the Duodenal Switch. I had my surgery on July 8th of 2010. I cannot wait until next summer! My husband and I are going to buy bikes and bike ride with our children for the first time! I want to go to the amuzement parks with my kids and know that I can fit on the rides! This is going to be a life changing experience for me and cannot wait to finish my life healthy and happy!
