Hi Jessica,
Thank you for your post. I'm having my surgery in NH on 4/11 at 8:15a.m. I'm trying not to be nervous, I'm trying to think of the surgery as an adventure!
It sounds like you've had a long journey. I started my WLS journey in 10/05. Things have moved along very quickly. I'm very thankful for that.
I hope that you get to realize your dream of becoming an RN someday. I became an RN 5/93. I didn't start college until I was 35 years old. Luckily I have a very supportive husband. I worked full-time a medical assistant 1 hour from my home. I would attend classes 2 nights a week & clinicals 2 nights a week. And of course mountains of homework on the weekends. It was tough on my kids who were in elementary school when I started. But with love and luck and good time management skills, you will be able to realize your dreams. And it sure sounds like you have a supportive husband!
Best of luck to you on 4/11. It's a good luck day here in New England, as it's the home opener for the Boston Red Sox. Go Sox!!
Again, best of luck to you on this new chapter in your life.
Lise
