Well my name is Jill and I am 35 years old. I have 2 children and 2 step children. I was never heavy or overweight until I started having my kids. I was 17 when I had the first and was so depressed that I gained around 80 pounds with him. I never lost the baby weight and as I have gotten older and another kid I am even heavier now. So I am ready for a change and I mean a big change. I made an appointment with Dr. Snows office last May to find out what I needed to do to accomplish my goal of WLS. After finding out all the information I needed my journey began. I had to do the 6 month diet and that started in June of 07 and needless to say I gained weight. I finished all the diet and medical information by Dec of 07. My first letter was denied because my height was not right so I had to get remeasured and then we sent in another letter asking the insurance to pay. That was the middle of Jan 08. I finally got my approval letter back in Feb. I finally have a date to start the preliminary part of the procedure. The doctor and hospital I will be using has as series of test called BEGIN. It will help me start on this wonderful and exciting journey. I have an appointment to do that on April of 08. The nurses at my docs office says anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks I'll have my surgery. I cannot wait! Even tho I have been extremely lucky and the process has not taken but a little under a year it feels like its been along time coming.
