I don't really know what to say. As a child, I was thin. When I went through puberty I put on some pounds. I then grew taller and became active in sports. I married my husband when I was 18 and was average with my weight. I starting putting on the pounds after having my daughter. I could never seem to shed those pounds. After 5 years of trying to have another baby, I went to a fertility specialist. My weight was making infertile!!! Finally I had another baby!! I was unhappy with my weight and used my weight as an excuse to not do something because I was embarrassed. I knew I was a big girl, but it took pictures to see how truely big I was. I went to the Dr to get some more info on weight loss surgery. My PCP told me to diet and exercise because weightloss surgery was not for me. I weighed 287lbs. He did tell me that if I did not lose the weight, I would be on the liver transplant list in less than 5 years. I was not happy with that answer so I switched my insurance to standard and called a bariatric surgeon without needing a referral. I met with Dr. Nye and the rest is history. I lost 170lbs in about a year and all my co-morbs have disappeared.
