"My 1st impression of Dr. Lambert is that he knows his stuff & is very understanding of the obese patients needs. He did not make anyone feel inferior & every question asked was addressed & answered.
His office staff was very courteous & I was impressed w/his office furniture, I could actually fit in the waiting room chair comfortably. Betty, his office nurse is very helpful w/ins info & what needs to be done in the interum of waiting for ins approval.
Dr. Lambert spent ALOT of time emphasizing the aftercare program. He has several post-op appts required for every patient for the 1st year, 18 months, then annually thereafter for the rest of your life. He will do bloodwork at every appt to check your levels because he says that the surgery is not the biggest part of your new life but the aftercare & the commitment that you make to the program & following every instruction given to you---that is what will make the difference between success & failure for you. In additon there is a monthly support group meeting w/staff & Dr. Lambert & others in different stages of the WLS journey. They even have a clothing exchange set up just w/his clients so as not to be x-tra expense on us.
Dr Lambert really expounded on the risks/benefits of surgery & was well informed. It was a comfort to me to hear that he uses the same OR room & OR team to perform all of his bariatric surgeries. He says that obese people have different needs & he wants a "well-trained" team assisting him, the same team every time. I was very impressed at hearing this. He says there is even a special floor for bariatric patients w/special equip & it is well staffed w/special nurses & aides who do nothing but take care of bariatric patients. I was so impressed!!! I would recommend Dr. Lambert to everyone in the Batesville or Southern Missouri area as your surgeon of choice. "
