Jaime Breckenridge

I have been heavy since about a year after high school.  Up until then I was plump, which was acceptable for guys.  I had a bit of a gut but nothing that a 30lb loss wouldn't cure.

I got a job when I was 19 traveling around and photographing at K-Marts (all those little kids... <<>>).  Anyway, I worked from 9am until about 7-8pm and rarely got time to have lunch so I ate one large meal a day, after 8pm, normal time was 9-10pm then went to bed.  I found out years later that SUMO wrestlers put on enormous weight by starving themselves during the day in order to lower their metabolism and then eating a large meal right before bedtime.  Thus they never raised their metabolism to eat the calories they were in taking.  I ate at fast food places because most sit-down places are closed by 9pm other than the occasional Perkins or truck stop.

now at 35 I weighed right about 450 or so and tried several diets, as we all have.  None really stuck with me.  I came down with a sinus infection in the summer of 2007 and still had it in the winter of 2008.  They tried steroids for months trying to get rid of it and I put on over 100lbs.  My max weight was 570.  It was time to do something for real this time.  NO relacore or ww points or Atkins or redux or south beach or etc... you all get the idea you have been there and lived that.

I went to Peoria Surgical group and went to their first class and I met with the doctor and he let me know the lap-band you lose on average 75-125 lbs over a 3 year period.  Gastric Bypass you lose on average 100-250 over a 2-3 year period.  Duodenal Switch you lose up to 300+ in less than a year and that was the route that best suited me so I agreed after studying up on the DS.  I was approved and had my surgery on Monday October 13th, 2008.
