It's been almost five years now.  My band wasn't very sensitive and pretty much let me eat what I wanted.  Disappointing! .  I was able to keep off the initial weight I lost (40 lbs)  and then this January I had surgery for knee replacement that kicked my butt!!! Anesthesia made me so sick I couldn't eat much.  I didn't deactivate my band like I probably should have before surgery.  Dropped another 50 lbs in 4 months before I decided to have the fluid taken out of the band. Right now with meds, it's easier to leave it deactivated since I have an easier time swallowing.  Feeling better now and am still maintaining small healthy portions.  It's wonderful being a size 12 again!!!
