I am sad tonight because my little dog Spike was killed by the neighbor's dog!! I was trying to be a good samaritin taking their little dog that got out of the yard back home while I was walking Spike. When I went to the door and knocked, the woman that was visiting there opened the door and the big dog came out and grabbed Spike by his head and crushed his skull and ripped his eye out and I was trying to get the big dog to stop attacking Spike and I fell backwards off the steps and ended up with a broken finger. Finally we got the dogs apart and I rushed home screaming for Gary and we rushed Spike to the emergency vet. They told us there that he had a crushed skull and his eye would never go back in the socket and there was no guarantee that he would live. They suggested that we put him down. OMG my poor little dog never ever hurt anyone and didn't deserve to die like this!!! I will never ever be a good smaratin again that is for sure!!

Today was my 3 month check-up. I am now down to 268 pounds!!! My new BMI is 43, I have lost 22 pounds since my November appointment and 66 pounds since I was first weighed at MMPC. I have lost 7 inches in my waist and 11 inches in my hips!!! My blood pressure is really good and am not taking blood pressure pills anymore. And my blood tests were great!!!!!
This is so cool to be getting thin again!!! I can't wait to be under 200 pounds!!!
My clothes are fitting me loose now and it feels good to be wearing "big" clothes!!! No more being confined in a pair of pants that are cutting into my waist, or having my bra cutting into me. Freedom at last!!!!
Tomorrow I will begin taking Citracal with vitamin D. That is so I don't get osteporosis. So I am all for that!!
I got an upper respatory infection on New Years Eve and had to take some antibiotic and some cough syrup with codine in it and also had to use an inhaler for my lungs. I am sure that had something to do with my 2 week stall. But today the numbers moved down for me!!! So more protein and water and exercise and we will see what happens.
My next appointment will be in April so I will post again then.

Today was my six week check-up and I am now down another 7 pounds!!!! That makes it 29 pounds since surgery!!! I am so thrilled about this weight loss!!!! I was worried for awhile because after my appointment on October 30th I hit a stand still on my loss. I found out that everyone hits it about that time. So I checked with others on the October sugery Board and they were all at a stand still just like me!
Also get to try some new foods finally. I tried some refried beans and cheese and it got stuck!! also tried a scrambled egg with some cheese and it also got stuck!! So I am being careful what I eat.
I went to eat crablegs on my birthday and I made it home in time to have the foamies and throw them up in the driveway. No more crablegs for me for awhile!!!

Today was my first dr visit since surgery. I was so excited when I got on the scale and watched it stop at 297 pounds!!!! WOW!!!!! Dr Foote was really shocked that I didn't try any solid food since surgery...LOL told him I planned on following the program to the letter!!!! I for one do not like to get sick!!! I asked him about that chunk of fat he took out of my chest and he said it was 6 mm. OMG!!!! That makes it between the size of a grapefruit and a melon!!!! He said it was like taking a baby out of me!!!!
Also saw the nutritionist today. I get tohave some real food!!! So tonight I had some clam chowder soup. Man was it ever good!!! I had no trouble eating it...but I do admit that I ate it really slow!!! Can't wit til tomorrow when I really start on the real foods!!!!
I go back to MMPC on the 27th of november so I will post then.

Well I had my surgery and Dr Foote found some problems inside of me!!! He said I had a large chunk of fat up in my chest and didn't know how I could even breathe good!! Also my stomach was up around my esophagus!!! So he took care of that and then he did my LAP RNY for me!!!! Got to love Dr Foote!!! He is the BEST!!!!!!!
I am not in any pain from the surgery. No pain meds since friday morning. Having some trouble with my blood pressure being high tho. I am keeping a close watch on it. Trying hard to get my proteins in and am now making progress. The water is also going down much better too.
Trying hard to get along with Gary. He has been such a pain in my ass its unreal!!!!
I will be going back to MMPC on the 30th and will update more then.

Well I had my first seminar today...woohooo one step closer to having surgery done! I am also going to another seminar on the 20th to see which dr and hospital I am going to have this surgery done with. Will update after the next seminar.

I went to the seminar in Mt. Pleasant tonight with Dr. Cudjoe. I really enjoyed his seminar and he answered questions that everyone had and made us all feel very good about this surgery. I have made up my mind and I am going to go to Dr. Cudjoe for my surgery. I am now more at ease after going to this seminar to have the bypass done. I would say to anyone in the area to go to Dr. Cudjoe and see how they feel about him. I know that I really trust him right now. So I am now another step closer to the surgery. Will update again after seeing my pcp on monday.

I went to my pcp today and he filled out my papers for Dr. Cudjoe. I have them in the mail and now I wait to hear from him on my consultation. My pcp told me today that I would die in a few years if I didn't have this surgery. I am so ready for this life long change. I have tried so many diets and failed. Sure I have lost weight only to gain it all back and then some. I know that this is a life time ordeal and there is no changing it back. I want to live life...not watch it pass me by!!! When I look into the future... its so bright it hurts my eyes.....

I just heard from the Dr's office this morning. WOOOHOOO!!! I have to make appointment with my heart Dr and also a psyc evaluation appointment. I will be hearing back tomorrow from both for my appointments. After that is over and done with, I will be making appointment to see Dr Cudjoe in Alma for my consultation, and then I wait for final approval from BCBS and my surgery date!!! I am getting so excited to be getting closer to being called a loser!! And this time loser has a really nice ring to it!!!! :)

Well I didn't hear from the psyc's office this morning so I called them before I went to work and they didn't have anything to tell me yet. Also the heart Dr's nurse won't be available to talk to me until tomorrow. Well when I got home from work tonight I found out the psyc's office called me!!! I have to call them back tomorrow morning!!! I sure hope its good news. Like maybe insurance covers the testing!! But if it doesn't atleast I will have an appointment scheduled. So I am on my way now!!! WOOHOOOOO!!!!!! :)

I talked to the psyc's office today. I HAVE MY PSYC APPOINTMENT!!! It is done in three parts and the first one is this saturday!!! I also talked to the heart dr's office and they will let me know friday if I have to repeat any of my stress tests that I had done last year in July. WOOHOOO I am on my way!!!!! :)

Today I had my psyc evaluation done. I felt at ease with John and held nothing back from him. He said he was going to see that I wasn't held up for the bypass...so I take it that I passed. But he said the paperwork will be sent to Dr Cudjoe around the 21st of May. :)

I talked to Tammy today at Dr Cudjoe's office and she said she was waiting until the paperwork from psyc eval. comes in so she can get the approval from BCBS then schedule my consultation with the dr and other tests that need done. So it looks like I could wait up to 8 weeks before I know when I will have surgery. But I could be approved right away also... so I can live with that. WooHoo I am on my way....:)

Today I had a call from the surgeon's office....they haven't recieved my psyc evaluation yet. GRRRR I called the psyc office and was told it would be another 4-6 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was nice and said I was told by John that it would be to the surgeon's office by the 21st. So now I have to call John back on June 1st. Well you can bet your bottom dollar that I am going to!!! Its the only thing holding up the insurance approval!!!!! I thought I was going to hear that I was approved today when Tammy called me and to hear that she hadn't received the eval yet made me want to cry. I am glad that June 1st isn't that far away.

Tonight I found a very nice person that made my profile so pretty for me! She is so very sweet to do this for me! I love everything she did to my profile!!
I feel so much better now knowing there are some wonderful people out there that understand what I am going through with my waiting on the paperwork.

I got some great news today!! My psyc eval has been faxed to Dr Cudjoe's office and I should be hearing soon if I am approved by my insurance company!!! I am so excited!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!
Finally I am getting somewhere and I feel so happy I am just not sure what to do next!! (if that makes any sense lol) Will up date soon as I hear from surgeon's office!!! YESSSSSSS!!!! :)

I was told it could take a few weeks for that...but I am so ready now!!!! I am so tired of waiting for the WLS and I am praying it will be soon!! I want to be called a loser!!!

Well its a no go for WLS with Dr Cudjoe. He said because I had that hernia on my esophagus four years ago he will not do WLS RNY on me at all. He did call Dr Foote and said he will try surgery if he can. I will have to be cut open to find out. Yippeee I can hardly wait! From what I am reading on the DS type its harder than hell to get this type approved by insurance. Great!!! Waiting for paperwork from Dr Foote's office. Will update when I get it.

I didn't get the paperwork yet....But I did talk to the nurse at Dr Foote's office finally!! She said I need to have Dr Boysen fax over my record on my hernia surgery from four years ago so Dr Foote can see what it is all about. So hopefully I will be seeing Dr Foote soon. I am praying so hard that he will do one of the WLS's for me. I am so sick and tired of not being able to do anything because of this fat on me!! Not to mention the sweating all the time in this heat!!! Will be back when I hear anything.

I got a call from Dr Foote's office today!!! I am going to see the Internist Monday the 31st and then on August 7th I go see Dr Foote and the Behaviorist!!! Talk about getting a nice wake-up call early in the morning!!! WOOHOOO I am so happy now!!!! I have to get a copy of the report on my hernia surgery tho to take with me when I go. I will be back when I have more info to write. :))

I saw the Internist today. I was asked alot of questions on my health background. At first I was thinking that I was going to be told NO again. But then as the session went on I felt like hey!! I think she is going to let me have this WLS!! So when it was all over and she asked me if I had any questions...I asked Am I getting your go ahead? She said YES!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! But then she stated that I also have to see Dr Foote and the behaviorist next week. Well ok no problem...I hope...LOL

Today I met Dr Foote at MMPC. WOW what a Dr!! I have complete trust in this man to do my WLS. He explained everything he would do and try to do. I told him I trusted his judgement completely!! He said he would prefer I had my EGD done at MMPC so he could video-tape it and this way he would know exactly what he was up against with my scar tissue. I said ok with me. Now I have to wait for them to call me with a date.I also have to see the Nutritionist yet. He said it could be on the same day. YESSSSSS!!! I am getting closer to having my surgery now!!!
I also met Brian my Behaviorist today. He was really nice and asked me alot of questions and had me do a little test and he said I should go to support group meetings and I told him I already am doing that. He said Great!!! And if I needed extra support to give him a call. He said he would approve me for the WLS!!! YAHOO!!! I am now another step closer!!!
I also met Eileen for lunch and she was very nice! She also gave me a couple books to read and some food samples. I can't believe how nice everyone is here on the OH site!!! They all treat you like they have known you forever.
I will post again when I have some news. : )

I just got a call from MMPC and I have a date for my EGD with Dr Foote on the 24th of this month!!! YESSSSSSS!!!! YAHOO!!!!! I am so close now I can't believe it!!!! Will post again when I have more news!! : )

I had my EGD done yesterday. Don't remember much after tho. I did call MMPC and talked to Kim and she said everything is ok and I also found out the paperwork has been sent in back on the 15th to insurance for approval!!!! WOW!!! Now I am really excited!!! It could take up to a month she said...well in that case in a couple weeks now or less!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I will post again when I hear any news. :)

Well I guess I should post about being pissed last week. I called BC/BS to see if there was any news on my approval. What I found out didn't make me happy at all!! The woman I talked to told me they never recieved any paperwork on my WLS. Soooooo I then called MMPC and talked to Roylynn. She said she would send my paperwork in again. Ok. So I wait a couple days and call BC/BS again to see if they recieved my paperwork. This witch (being nice here) that I was talking to said I had no business calling them and my surgeon's office should be doing the calling!! Well I called MMPC again. This time I talked to Valerie. She told me Roylynn faxed and mailed my paperwork to BC/BS the other day and that BC/BS faxed back that they did recieve my paperwork. Sooooo Valerie also told me that BC/BS doesn't always post anything until they are finished approving or not. Sooooo I could still be hearing anytime now or it could be 30 days to wait. I am soooooo pissed about this set back I could scream!!!!!!!!!! But then maybe it is GOD's doing because I had a cold. Well if you are listening GOD...my cold is gone now....PLEASE have BC/BS or MMPC call me with approval soon!!!! I so want my new life to begin soon!!

Today I found out I was approved!!!!!! I am so happy!!!! Gary said now maybe I wouldn't be so crabby!!! OMG I didn't think I was that bad around here!! Maybe I just didn't see it. Now I wait to hear on the date for my surgery!!! I am so excited for this to happen!!!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I got the call this afternoon and I have my date!!!!!!!! It will be October 17, 2006!!! Less than three weeks!!! OMG!!!! I will be going to MMPC on the 4th to see the Dietician and the PA. Then on the 10th I go back for blood test and see how I am doing. Then on the 17th I have my surgery!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!!! This is the best thing that has ever happened to me!!!

Well I didn't get back to post my happenings until now. I have been reading so many emails from well wishers I forgot about posting my thoughts here! OK...here goes...I went to MMPC on the 4th had to drive through some nasty thunderstorms to get there. Had one heck of a tension headache!!! WOW!!!! Went in to see the dietician and learned about eating. Got my pre-op foods. Saw the exercise guy and learned about the need to exercise. Then finally saw the PA and he talked about all the different types of surgery and such. Very interesting day there....so much information given out to us!!
After that group meeting we were called one at a time to be weighed again and then talked to the PA one on one. I found out I lost a few pounds since the last time I was weighed there. WOOOHOOOO!!!!! Now I have my foods from MMPC and have started eating them since Thursday. I am doing really good with all the foods and beverages so far. The soy nuts I really don't care for but I will eat them because I asked for them...LOL
I go back on Tuesday the 10th to be weighed again and also blood tests and see the PA one last time. I am really excited that my date is almost here!!!
I will be back to post more when I get back home from my next appointment on the 10th. :)
Had my appointment today at MMPC. I lost another 7 pounds on the pre-op diet!!! WOW!!!! Had my blood test and urine test today also. Now I am waiting for the hospital to call with my final time for surgery. We took a ride to find the hospital while we were there and its not hard to find so we are all set!!! Next week I will be a loser!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think she is going to let me have this WLS!! So when it was all over and she asked me if I had any questions...I asked Am I getting your go ahead? She said YES!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! But then she stated that I also have to see Dr Foote and the behaviorist next week. Well ok no problem...I hope...LOL

Today I met Dr Foote at MMPC. WOW what a Dr!! I have complete trust in this man to do my WLS. He explained everything he would do and try to do. I told him I trusted his judgement completely!! He said he would prefer I had my EGD done at MMPC so he could video-tape it and this way he would know exactly what he was up against with my scar tissue. I said ok with me. Now I have to wait for them to call me with a date.I also have to see the Nutritionist yet. He said it could be on the same day. YESSSSSS!!! I am getting closer to having my surgery now!!!
I also met Brian my Behaviorist today. He was really nice and asked me alot of questions and had me do a little test and he said I should go to support group meetings and I told him I already am doing that. He said Great!!! And if I needed extra support to give him a call. He said he would approve me for the WLS!!! YAHOO!!! I am now another step closer!!!
I also met Eileen for lunch and she was very nice! She also gave me a couple books to read and some food samples. I can't believe how nice everyone is here on the OH site!!! They all treat you like they have known you forever.

I just got a call from MMPC and I have a date for my EGD with Dr Foote on the 24th of this month!!! YESSSSSSS!!!! YAHOO!!!!! I am so close now I can't believe it!!!! Will post again when I have more news!! : )

I had my EGD done yesterday. Don't remember much after tho. I did call MMPC and talked to Kim and she said everything is ok and I also found out the paperwork has been sent in back on the 15th to insurance for approval!!!! WOW!!! Now I am really excited!!! It could take up to a month she said...well in that case in a couple weeks now or less!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I will post again when I hear any news. :)

Well I guess I should post about being pissed last week. I called BC/BS to see if there was any news on my approval. What I found out didn't make me happy at all!! The woman I talked to told me they never recieved any paperwork on my WLS. Soooooo I then called MMPC and talked to Roylynn. She said she would send my paperwork in again. Ok. So I wait a couple days and call BC/BS again to see if they recieved my paperwork. This witch (being nice here) that I was talking to said I had no business calling them and my surgeon's office should be doing the calling!! Well I called MMPC again. This time I talked to Valerie. She told me Roylynn faxed and mailed my paperwork to BC/BS the other day and that BC/BS faxed back that they did recieve my paperwork. Sooooo Valerie also told me that BC/BS doesn't always post anything until they are finished approving or not. Sooooo I could still be hearing anytime now or it could be 30 days to wait. I am soooooo pissed about this set back I could scream!!!!!!!!!! But then maybe it is GOD's doing because I had a cold. Well if you are listening GOD...my cold is gone now....PLEASE have BC/BS or MMPC call me with approval soon!!!! I so want my new life to begin soon!!

Today I found out I was approved!!!!!! I am so happy!!!! Gary said now maybe I wouldn't be so crabby!!! OMG I didn't think I was that bad around here!! Maybe I just didn't see it. Now I wait to hear on the date for my surgery!!! I am so excited for this to happen!!!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I got the call this afternoon and I have my date!!!!!!!! It will be October 17, 2006!!! Less than three weeks!!! OMG!!!! I will be going to MMPC on the 4th to see the Dietician and the PA. Then on the 10th I go back for blood test and see how I am doing. Then on the 17th I have my surgery!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!!! This is the best thing that has ever happened to me!!!

Well I didn't get back to post my happenings until now. I have been reading so many emails from well wishers I forgot about posting my thoughts here! OK...here goes...I went to MMPC on the 4th had to drive through some nasty thunderstorms to get there. Had one heck of a tension headache!!! WOW!!!! Went in to see the dietician and learned about eating. Got my pre-op foods. Saw the exercise guy and learned about the need to exercise. Then finally saw the PA and he talked about all the different types of surgery and such. Very interesting day there....so much information given out to us!!
After that group meeting we were called one at a time to be weighed again and then talked to the PA one on one. I found out I lost a few pounds since the last time I was weighed there. WOOOHOOOO!!!!! Now I have my foods from MMPC and have started eating them since Thursday. I am doing really good with all the foods and beverages so far. The soy nuts I really don't care for but I will eat them because I asked for them...LOL
I go back on Tuesday the 10th to be weighed again and also blood tests and see the PA one last time. I am really excited that my date is almost here!!!
I will be back to post more when I get back home from my next appointment on the 10th. :)
Had my appointment today at MMPC. I lost another 7 pounds on the pre-op diet!!! WOW!!!! Had my blood test and urine test today also. Now I am waiting for the hospital to call with my final time for surgery. We took a ride to find the hospital while we were there and its not hard to find so we are all set!!! Next week I will be a loser!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will post again after I am back home from surgery.
