Figuring it all out

Dec 28, 2009

So December 23rd was my new birth date. I was so lucky to get that date, even though my mom swore I was crazy for getting it done firght before christmas, I knew it was the best thing for me. The experience wasn't bad at all. I woke up fully alert after the surgery (which the recovery nurse thought was "remarkable"). I was ready to go! I was so excited! I have not been nausiated except for when I had to pull my pain catheter out (yuck!), and I have not puked. As a metter of fact, I have slowly discovered without a fill, I don't feel any restriction, but when I try something  semi solid, I get full FAST. That's awesome!  I was able to have dressing (very runny) on Christmas day! I was up shopping on Christmas eve, one day after my surgery. Now that the pain pump is out, I think I am discovering that I probably over did that just a little bit. My port site is very sore, and it aches constantly. It's weird to bend a certain way and feel that little thing inside you. I also have a hard time singing (which is bad, I am a music teacher). I can't flex my stealth abs enough to sing properly. Hopefully this is not a permenant thing. So far, I have lost 6 lbs. I feel great most of the time, and when I don't it's not for any reason except I over did it. I have not regretted my decision one time!!
