Once upon a time... wait wrong story. I was pretty much a normal skinny kid until 4th grade when I hit puberty and bam! came the hips, waist, butt, thighs and everything else. I remember being 135 pounds in the 7th grade. I remember having to run the mile in 8th grade and taking 1/2 hour to do so because I really wasn't running because of losing my breath and starting to get pain in my legs. I don't remember getting teased for my weight, which is really good because I can be sensitive about it at times. I've been on Weight Watchers twice and I was also on Redux for a short time. I don't remember losing a significant amount of weight from either of them.

My bubbie (my mom's mother) mentioned a weight loss surgery a few years ago, but I'd never heard about it before and didn't have health insurance so I didn't think much of it or look into it. Since then my mom's friend and boss, Kitty, had the surgery and then my mom had it (both the RNY in April 2005 and then a revision with the Duodenal Switch in May 2009). I'm tired a lot, I have no energy, I get pains in my stomach and legs from standing too much, my back kills me and I get short of breath easily. I could go on and on.
