I feel like my life began on 12/10/02. That was the day that I had surgery. I had been overweight most of my adult life. I had gotten so large that I wasn't comfortable doing anything. My entire life had stopped. It was affecting my relationship with my whole family. I didn't want to participate in life. My marriage suffered greatly because I felt ugly and fat. After I had surgery, I felt reborn. I began to be a part of my family's activities. I could go places and do things that I hadn't been able to do in years. Now, almost 5 years later, I am healthy and strong. I have a wonderful life with my husband and enjoy life to the fullest. I started out at 250 lbs. and I now weigh 118 lbs but had lost down to 102 pounds. I am able to eat anything that I want, just in small portions. My only regret is that this surgery wasn't available a long time ago. I am very thankful to Dr. Dirk Rodrigez and his staff for working so hard to get things approved.
This year I had a lower body lift to get rid of the excess skin from my abdomen and I look wonderful. I truly believe that I have been blessed with a new life.
