New Me and New for Me
Sep 09, 2009
Well, I ususally don't do all this blogging and posting stuff, but I thought it might be a good idea for tracking and maybe to help others.I had my lap DS surgery on August 17th, with Dr. Stewart in Denton, TX. My surgery was normal, with gall bladder removed and liver biop. I had the luxury of seeing my wife go through this before myself, so I kind of knew what to expect. NOT!!!
Actually it has not been bad. I am little tired, and it has been difficult to retrain my body and mind how to eat. However, overall, it has been good. I am 3.5 weeks post-op now and I am down 31 pounds. I'm beginning to feel the difference now a little.
I have already begun eating normal foods again, for the most part, just making sure to eat my protein first. These protein shakes are getting difficult to get used to. I actually have some questions about some of that, but will cover more of that later, i think. lol However, breads and pastas come last. But with all he fatty foods and light starches I can eat, it hasn't been as bad as say the atkins diet. I am beginning to feel like getting out a bit more, and being a little more active. This will be great.
Right now i am feeling great because I have lost so much in such a short time. I hope I will be down 100 pounds by Christmas, but it will probably be more like 80. I at least will be back down in the 200s, which will be the first time in like 15 years to be in that range.
Well, this is getting quite long-winded.
Bye for now!
