Sleeved 09-27-12 and all was well.  I was having a very difficult time getting in my fluids so needed IV fluids at 14 days post op.  10-11-12 developed a low grade fever that climbed to 102.9 by the end of the day.  Went to surgical center and they hooked me up to IV again.  Heart rate was high and stayed 114-118 during the 2 bags of fluid.  Admitted to the hospital that evening and underwent a cat scan that reveled a pocket outside my stomach.  The next morning I had an upper GI video with contrast that showed a "small" leak 3cm x 2.2cm at the top of the stomach where it meets the esophagus.  Stayed in hospital for a week, had another upper GI which showed improvement so the surgeon allowed me to go home with a PICC line and TPN nutrition, nothing to eat or drink at all by mouth.  Upper GI scan is conducted every week and every week it shows slight improvement, so we continue down this path.  PICC line infection Nov 1st sent me back to hospital and had to have PICC line placed in other arm.  It is now Nov 12th and I have had it...I am completely overwhelmed, was supposed to go back to work last week, not it has been pushed out as well.  I can't stand the "not knowing" everyone says it's soooo close to being sealed, I hear that every week.  I have decided not to anticipate any good news each time and it is a little easier.  The hardest part is making my sons meals....OMG....my sense of smell is outrageous right now, he can eat a chocolate chip cookie in the other room and I can smell it!  I never thought I would look so forward to drinking water, or protein shakes but man what I wouldn't give for something!
